Object Details

General: This garden began under the ownership of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Matthews in 1929. A sunken garden was part of a large estate. Ethelbert Furlong wrote that the walled fountain and pool were laid out at the terminus of a rectangular wall-enclosed garden. The walls were given a pale salmon stucco wash. The blue wall of the pool was picked up in the pale blue terra cotta dolphin.
