It is an unusual shaped double-bout dulcimer, with a wood nut and bridge to accommodate 3 strings, 17 metal frets, 4 three-hole triangular-shaped sound holes, 2 extant wooden friction pegs, carved out pegbox for 3 pegs, and a rounded head.
