- This ammonite fossil is identified as Scaphites sp. and is from the Upper Cretaceous period. Ammonites are a group of extinct marine molluscs. This ammonite fossil is mostly gray in color, and the shell has some iridescence to it. It measures around 3 cm x 2.8 cm x 1.3 cm in size.
