- An oblong medallion portrait is on top of every strip dedicated to a month. Represented are: king "Louis August XVI, du nom / Roi de France et de Navarre" (1754-1793); queen "Marie Antoinette d'Autriche / Reine de France." (1755-1793); the dauphin "Louis Charles / Prince Royale" (1785-1795); the princess "Marie Therese Charlotte de / France, Madame Iere"; the major of Paris, "Monsieur Bailly / Maire de Paris"; "Monsieur [Marquis de] la Fayette / Com.dant de la Garde Parisienne" (1757-1834).
