- Description
- The majority of the picture is dominated by a large New York City skyscraper. The building was designed by Ely Jacques Kahn in an Art Deco style. The architecture is also characterized by a setback or ziggurat approach, with a step-like effect and a reduction in area as it reaches upward towards a central spire. Other buildings, including one large building to the right with a similar setback style, surround the structure. Although the sky is very dark, a light area appears on the center right and two light rays shine down from above. An illuminated area in front of the building on the street level is surrounded by dark shadows. Small figures and cars are dispersed in front of the building.
