This exhibition gallery explores the technological advances of WWI aviation set against a background of a front-line, allied airstrip somewhere in France in 1918.

Highlights include:

  • Aircraft: Fokker D VII, Spad VII, Spad XVI, and Albatros D. Va.
  • Aerial Maneuvers: Immelmann, chandelle, barrel roll, and snap roll are demonstrated
  • Machine gun synchronization device allowed the pilot to fire safely through the spinning propellor disc
