On view is a life-size, radio-controlled replica of a large prehistoric "creature," a pterodactyl-like craft resembling the "Quetzalcoatlus northropi," whose 35-foot-plus fossil remains were found in Texas in the early 1970s. This replica was constructed by aviation pioneer Paul MacCready. This replica of an ancient flying reptile, also known as QN—The Time Traveler, was on display at the Air & Space Museum (5/19/86 - 9/15/88) and appears in the NASM film On the Wing, which examines flight in its various forms.
