In October 2006, Justice Sandra Day O'Connor—the first female associate justice on the Supreme Court of the United States (1981-2006)—sat for two 3-hour sessions with artists from The Painting Group, a New York-based group of 25 artists who have been meeting regularly for 40 years and is led by master artists Aaron Shikler and David Levine. This exhibition features the resultant 25 portraits of O'Connor, showcasing the artists' diverse interpretation of the same subject and illustrating that there is more than one way to depict or view an individual.
