The artist, now 80, exhibits regularly, but this is the most comprehensive exhibition of her work every held—131 pastels, prints, drawings, paintings and embroideries. Her pastel satirical portraits, the hallmark of her work, provide a witty and revealing record of society of the 20s and 30s—and include Louis Bouche, Lloyd Goodrich, Reginald Marsh and Carl Van Doren. Among her drawings are those of Heywood Broun, Lillian Gish, Jascha Heifetz, Georgia O'Keefe, Dorothy Parker, President Franklin D. Roosevelt, and Gertrude Stein.
