Elizabeth Talford Scott draws on methods, materials, and memories from her rural childhood to fuse vibrantly colored cloth from around the world into asymmetrical shapes and patterns. Real and imaginary creatures inhabit her densely-stitched surfaces adorned with stones, buttons, shells, bones, and other found objects. Her storytellers include insects, such as “candlebugs” (fireflies), monsters, and frogs.
