National Museum of Natural History
10th St. & Constitution Ave., NW
Washington, DC
On view is a 10-year retrospective of "Coyote" art by American Indian artist Henry Fonseca. His watercolors, mixed-media paintings, bronze sculptures, serigraphs, and lithographs reveal the artist's vision of a magical being prominent in the traditional literative and religious beliefs of many of the native peoples of the Americas.
In the show, Coyote leaves his rural reservation, participates in the southwestern American Art scene, and visits New York City.
The exhibition was organized by the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County.
