This small exhibition traces the history of aerial firefighting in the U.S. More than 35 historical photographs and film footage of an actual mission explain the important role of aircraft in the constant battle against wildfires. Models of aircraft used for firefighting today, tools, and a smokejumper suit help illustrate how almost 200 million acres of land are protected by the U.S. Forest Service.
