Louisiana Electronic Benefit Transfer Card

- Description
- The Louisiana Department of Social Services, Office of Family Support, issued this Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) card around 2006. The card was used in Louisiana to purchase goods through the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) or the Louisiana Combined Application Project (LaCAP). EBT cards replaced food stamps nationwide beginning in 2004. The front of the card bears and image of the state of Louisiana and the words "Louisiana Purchase Automated Benefit Card Department of Social Services."
