Award-winning actor and self-professed food obsessive Stanley Tucci joins cookbook author and TV host Ina Garten for a Smithsonian Associates Streaming event Thursday, Oct. 7, at 8 p.m. ET. Presented in collaboration with Scripps Presents, the public programming series at Scripps College, Tucci will discuss with Garten his favorite food memories, his recent Emmy-award winning series for CNN, Stanley Tucci: Searching for Italy, and what he is looking forward to in the future.

Tucci grew up in an Italian American family that spent every night around the kitchen table. He shared the magic of those meals in The Tucci Cookbook and The Tucci Table, and now he goes beyond the savory recipes and into the compelling stories behind them. His new book, Taste: My Life Through Food, is a reflection on the intersection of food and life, filled with anecdotes about growing up in Westchester, New York, preparing for and shooting the foodie films Big Night and Julie & Julia, falling in love over dinner and teaming up with his wife to create meals for a multitude of children.

Tickets for the Smithsonian Associates’ streaming program include a copy of Tucci’s book, Taste: My Life Through Food (Gallery Books). Ticket prices are $45 for general admission and $40 for Smithsonian Associates members. To register, the public can visit www.smithsonianassociates.org or call (202) 633-3030.

For 55 years, Smithsonian Associates has produced vibrant educational and cultural programming that brings the Smithsonian to life.
