Amy Chen has been serving as the Chief Investment Officer at the Smithsonian Institution since 2006 when she was selected as the first person to hold this position. Chen and her nine-person team are responsible for the oversight, investment strategy, and management of the Smithsonian’s $2.5 billion endowment.
Chen holds a BA in government from Oberlin College and an MBA from the Johnson School of Business at Cornell University. She is an honorary trustee of the Board of Trustees at Oberlin College and is an investment committee member for the Henry Luce Foundation and American University.
