- Description
- A cloudy landscape study of a view over wooded hills in the foreground, through a river or lake in the middle distance that reflects the red-orange of the sunset, to a mist-enshrouded and dimly mountain ridge--almost certainly the Catskill Escarpment. Sky is vividly hued between the bright blue firmament and the golden-orange clouds, which reflect the last light of the setting sun. A sailboat cruises along the surface of the body of water.
