- Description
- A multicolored cotton quilt sewn for Stacey Abrams by the Sowing Truth and Justice Collective of Northeast Georgia.
- Following Abrams’s loss to Brian Kemp in the 2018 Gubernatorial race for Georgia, the six-member Sewing Truth and Justice Collective, created this quilt out of love and solidarity for Stacy Abrams, and in honor of her ongoing fight for fair elections. The front of the quilt is made of a dark blue background. In the middle, below the white threaded words “SOWING TRUTH AND JUSTICE” are multi-colored quilt patched depicting ballot boxes. White thread stars dot the dark blue background below the ballot patches. The hemming and inner border all round the quilt is made up of large multi-colored and multi-patterned squares. The reverse of the quilt is primarily grey with swirling white dots. In one corner there is a triangular pocket, on top of which is sewn a white square of muslin. Embroidered on the muslin in black thread is: [Sewn for Stacey Abrams / by the / Sowing Truth and Justice Collective / of Northeast Georgia / 2020].
