- Rectangular, in the shape of a book, featuring incised decoration of bust of poet Robert Burns in oval reserve, inscribed "Burns" with leaf motifs at 4 corners, reverse features incised decoration of mountain, lake and boat scene with acorn motifs on upper corners, and thistle motifs below, left long side resembles book spine, right long side inscribed "J. Smith." Flat lid features abstract incised decoration, hinged on side. Striker on bottom.
