- This Appalachian dulcimer was made by Lewis Radford in Meadows of Dan, Virginia, in 1969. It is a single-bout dulcimer, with four strings (one melody string, two drone strings, and one string with an unknown purpose), metal nut and bridge, 12 metal frets, two f-shaped sound holes, 4 dark wood friction pegs, carved out pegbox, and rounded head.
