- Description
- Photographic postcard of an unidentified World War I soldier with quartermaster private first class patch. The soldier is captured standing in front of a studio backdrop with a vase of flowers, his proper left hand resting on a small light colored table. The photograph fades away at the bottom edge. He is wearing a full uniform with a patch visible on his upper proper right of the jacket. The patch signifies his quartermaster status, it is an eagle with outstretched wings over a pair of crossed swords. He also has a chevron on his proper left bottom sleeve that signifies private first class. The image is vertical while the postcard is horizontal. The back of the postcard has the words, [Post Card / CARTE POSTALE on the top]. Underneath are sections for [Communication - Correspondance] and [Address - Adresse]. On the top right is an area for the stamp that is labeled [STAMP / HERE]. The bottom right of the postcard has an inscription written in graphite, [PMC PFC 'chevron' & QMC collar disk] that does not seem original to the postcard. Written vertically on the left under the Address section, the inscription reads, [1st Band / Army Service / Corps / ABT.]
