Photograph of rural carrier in uniform
Object Details
- Description
- Rural carriers were not required to wear uniforms. A few, such as this unidentified carrier, purchased and wore city carrier uniforms along their routes. The carrier is posed between a rural mailbox and his Ford automobile. Unlike city carriers, rural letter carriers were required to supply their own transportation for making their daily rounds.
