- Highly finished landscape study of waterfall and stream in the Maine woods, likely on Mount Desert Island. Extremely dark woods at right and left flank a rock-bound stream. Rapids and waterfall in middle distance serves as focal point. Dead tree visible through central break in tree canopy. Reddish ground visible in lower portion of composition.
