- This German Scheitholt style zither was made by an unknown maker in Pennsylvania between 1835 and 1865. It has a rectangular shaped body, with 4 strings, metal nut and bridge, 14 metal frets marked with applied letters, one round sound hole and one heart-shaped sound hole, 4 metal tuning pins, and a head with decorative carvings.
