- Electric corn popper. Circular bowl body (A), sheet aluminum, chrome-plated, with two plastic handles, brown, flat. Mounted on matching circular base which contains the heating elements, three plastic feet, brown. Side of bowl is scratched: “20800”; underside of base has “K-M” trademark, “KNAPP MONARCH CO./ST. LOUIS, MO. U.S.A./115V 450W/CAT. NO. 12-501-B/PAT. NOS. 2,194,852-D163,531/DO NOT IMMERSE IN WATER”.
- Domed, clear, glass lid (B), circular knob handle at top, brown plastic, embossed and printed: “KM”, sits inside small rim on top of popper. Handle is scratched on top: “20800”. Top of lid is textured, embossed: “Corn Popper/K-M” on either side.
- Accompanying measuring cup (C), cylindrical shape, aluminum, with measurements for filling popcorn kernels and cooking oil. Scratched into one side: “20800”
- Accompanying power cord (D), brown, rubber and plastic, with silver metal coil, two pronged.

- This toaster is from the Hoover Company Sample collection, North Canton, Ohio, including samples by Knapp-Monarch Company, St. Louis (Missouri), which was bought by Hoover in 1969. It is noted: “Hoover Co. Coll. Tag: Sample No. 20800/Rec’d. Sept. 1955/Serial No. 12-501-B/Model 85518”.
- Maker is the Knapp-Monarch Company, St. Louis, Missouri, founded in 1925 as A.S. Knapp and Company, not as a manufacturer, but to sell products. The company merged with manufacturer Monarch Company of Webster City, Iowa, in 1928. A large portion of Knapp-Monarch’s business was the manufacturing of products for private brands. In 1969 the company was acquired by the Hoover Company.
