- Kenelm Digby (1603-1665) was an English courtier, diplomat, natural philosopher—and father of the modern wine bottle. This engraved portrait print by R. V. Vorst is based on a painting by Anthony van Dyke, and dates from the 1630s. The instrument on the table is an armillary sphere.
