- Description
- This costume worn by Beyoncé as Deena Jones in the film Dreamgirls (2006) consisting of a black cardigan with attached dickie (.1), a brown plaid skirt (.2), and a yellow and white chiffon scarf (.3).
- The top (.1) consists of a black deep v-neck knit cardigan with cap sleeves. The cardigan closes at the center front with six (6) round black plastic buttons. The waist, neck, and sleeve ends are all ribbed. A dickie made from black pleated chiffon with ruffles along each side is sewn to the front sleeve seam and the side seams of the cardigan. The dickie closes along the center front with six (6) round black plastic buttons. It ends approximately two inches below the closure of the cardigan. The dickie has a standing ruffled collar, with a short portion of the chiffon sewn around the back neck of the cardigan. A red manufacturer's label for "tapemeasure" and a white size label are sewn at the interior center back neck. An additional white tag with red text containing fiber content, style, and care information is sewn at the interior proper left side seam near the waist.
- The skirt (.2) is made from a brown plaid fabric with brown printed designs of a geometric brick-like pattern and flowers printed near the hem. Brown floral lace trims the hem, extending below the plaid fabric. The skirt is a circle skirt with ironed pleats and a thin waistband. It falls just below the knee and closes at the proper left waist with a brown zipper and one (1) round brown plastic button. The skirt is lined in brown polyester material with a red manufacturer's label for "tapemeasure" and a white size label sewn at the interior center back waist. An additional white tag with red text containing fiber content, style, and care information is sewn at the interior proper left back waist.
- The scarf (.3) is a rectangular length of chiffon with a serged hem on all sides. It has a printed design in white, yellow, and light brown of a scallop-edge wide strip in white containing clusters of yellow flowers, with a solid yellow border surrounding the white stripe on the long sides. A white fabric label with red embroidered text is sewn into the hem of one of the short edges containing fiber content and place of manufacture.
