Egyptian Exhibit Centennial Exposition
A COPY OF THE TANIS OR CANOPUS STONE, FROM THE EGYPTIAN MUSEUM AT BOULAQ, WAS PRESENTED BY THE KHEDIVE OF EGYPT TO THE NATIONAL MUSEUM IN 1874. THIS CAST IS INCLUDED AMONG OTHER CASTS OF EGYPTIAN STATUES, THE ORIGINALS OF WHICH ARE AT THE MUSEUM OF GIZA. ENTRY IN RECORD BOOK SHOWS THAT THESE ANTIQUITIES WERE RECEIVED AS A GIFT FROM PROF. T. C. ARCHER, EDINBURGH. CAT. NOS. 24296-300. NO ACC. NO. THREE CAST PLAQUES (3 UNITS - E PARTS EACH) OF THE DECREE OF CANOPUS. PRESENTED TO THE U.S.N.M. BY THE MUSEUM AT CAIRO. 2 BOXES CONTAINING CASTS OF HIEROGLYPHIC UNIT IN 4 PARTS.
