- Summary
- This small case was for use with the close-up lunar surface stereo camera used on the Moon during the Apollo 11 mission. The bag was made to contain and protect a film cassette during storage on the spacecraft prior and after use. Keeping the cassette inside the bag allowed few particles of Moon dust to escape and possibly contaminate the vehicle.
- As the camera itselfwas bulky, it remained on the lunar surface and only accessory parts like this beta cloth bag returned to Earth.
- NASA transferred this camera film cassette bag to the Smithsonian in 1970.
