- Landscape study whoing view of sun setting behind the Catskills, from Long Hill. Foreground slope descends from right to left and gives way to a wooded landscape in the middle distance, rendered in dark purple. Catskill Escarpment beyond is rendered in a lighter purple, showing atmospheric perspective. Bright light of the setting sun shines on several clouds at center, making them gleam in hues of pink, cream, and peach. In background, sky is rendered in gradient from orange to blue.
