- The Postal Service issued a 37-cent Irving Berlin commemorative stamp on September 15, 2002, in New York, New York. The stamp, designed by Greg Berger of Bethesda, Maryland, went on sale nationwide September 16, 2002.
- With the issuance of this stamp, the Postal Service honors songwriter Irving Berlin. A man of the people who had an ear for the types of songs that would be universally appealing, Berlin helped change the direction of American popular music. During his long career, Berlin wrote more than 1,000 songs, many of which are still favorites today.
- Avery Dennison printed 61 million stamps in pressure-sensitive adhesive (PSA) panes of twenty in the gravure process.
