Also known as the friendship dance, this style of dance is a social occasion often held during the cold months in the northern U.S. and Canada. Participants form a circle in which the dancers often hold hands with their neighbors while side-stepping to the left. Everybody dance!

Celebrate Thanksgiving a bit early. Hear about Native foods -- many of which can be found on Thanksgiving tables today -- and see how they are prepared. Learn about the importance to Native people of the three sisters: corn, beans, and squash. Try traditional corn grinding, make a cornhusk doll, take a special family tour, and learn how to gather seeds for planting next spring. Celebrates American Indian Heritage Month.
