February 28, 1978 – December 31, 1982

Air and Space Museum
601 Independence Ave., SW
Washington, DC

Location: Special Exhibits, Gallery 208, 2nd Floor, Center

On view is the 70-pound Gossamer Condor developed by Paul MacCready that won the Kremer Prize for Man Powered Flight on August 23, 1977. With Bryan Allen at the controls, it fulfilled the requirements for human-energized flight over a figure-8 course between two points a half mile apart.
