Fareed H. Nu'man's black and white photographs document African American local participation in Islam. The photographs focus on the religion's five pilars: The Shahada, one's declaration of faith; The Salat, the prayer; The Zakat, charity; The Fasting, during Ramadan; and The Hajj, the pilgrimage to Mecca.
