Eva Hesse: A Retrospective

October 15, 1992 – January 10, 1993

Hirshhorn Museum & Sculpture Garden
7th and Independence Ave., SW
Washington, DC

Location: Lower Level

Approximately 40 sculptures and wall reliefs and 60 drawings and paintings by Hesse (1936-1970)--a pioneer of Post-Minimalist sculpture and a catalyst for the acceptance of a feminist expression of art--reveal the process of their creation and suggest dream-like allusions to organisms or body parts.
