Celia Cruz's Dress

July 21, 2003 – September 1, 2003

American History Museum
12th & Constitution Ave., NW
Washington, DC

Location: 3rd Floor, West Wing

On view is a costume that Celia Cruz, "the Queen of Latin music," wore in concert in Carnegie Hall in the 1970s. The orange gown with white trim is an adapted version of a traditional Cuban rumba dress, known as a "bata cubana."
